Diploma in Accounting
The Diploma in Accounting program is designed primarily for students who have a bachelor’s degree and want to sit for the CPA exam. The diploma program also will assist Federal government employees who want to change their job series codes to accounting.
The federal government requires 24 semester hours (36 quarter hours) of accounting courses to qualify for the General Service 510 series (accountant). The program will benefit other professionals seeking accounting skills to increase their job opportunities.
Many states require additional businessrelated courses to prepare for the CPA exam. Students should consult their respective state Board of Accountancy for further details. Also available: an Undergraduate Certificate in Introductory or Advanced Accounting; an Associate in Arts and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting; and an Executive Graduate Certificate and a Master of Science in Professional Accounting.
The average time to complete this undergraduate program attending on a parttime basis, 9.0 credit hours per quarter, is 18 months.
