Diploma in Medical Assisting

Fully accredited through ABHES, the Diploma in Medical Assisting online program is comprised solely of the core courses required for individuals seeking entry-level employment in the field of Medical Assisting. This diploma requires 48 semester credit hours for graduation and takes between 12 and 20 months to complete. Career opportunities for online Diploma program graduates include Medical Assistant, Medical Office Assistant, Medical Secretary, Admitting Clerk and Medical Administrative Assistant. Graduates of this program are eligible to sit for both the Certified Medical Assistant exam offered through the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) and the Registered Medical Assistant exam given by the American Medical Technologists association (AMT).

Health Care Assistant

Health Care Assistants (HCAs) provide support for patients with physical or mental health issues who need permanent or temporary care in facilities such as retirement homes, hospices, group homes, and long-term care facilities. Health Care Assistants are an invaluable part of the Canadian healthcare system. CDI College's HCA program teaches students to respond to the emotional, psychological, and physical needs of the client, to assist the client in interacting with family members, and to support the client's personal care such as bathing and hygiene. Students put the classroom work into practice as part of the mandatory 360-hour practicum placement, which will equip them with the real-world skills they need succeed. To graduate with an HCA diploma, students must complete 360 hours of clinical training.
