Program description: This course starts with the fundamentals: system components, tools, brazing and soldering techniques and more. Students are also taught how to install and troubleshoot valves, compressors, water chillers, thermostats and heat pumps; fix defective connections, controls and switches; adjust refrigerant levels and work with gas, oil and electric heat. The program is comprised of 19 comprehensive lessons. They are easy to follow, yet challenging and stimulating at the same time. Each lesson begins with a subject matter preview and objectives, an introductory note from the instructor and a vocabulary builder of new words and terms.
