I graduated from The Flint Institute of Barbering Inc. in 1966. At that time the Institute was located at the corner of Water st. and Saginaw Ave. in downtown Flint. It was one of the best experiences of my life. Excellent Class Room instruction along with progressive hands on training with the best instructors. Upon graduation, and passing my State Board Exams for licensing, I practiced my profession for Two months before I was inducted into the Armed forces to service in Vietnam. When I finished my Military service and returned home, I was welcomed by the long hair society and the Barber business was slow at best. I had to pursue additional education and choose a different career field. Now at age 63 I would like to reapply for my Barbering license which in being held by The State of Michigan. I don't know what the requirements are, but I would imagine that I would have to re enroll at the Flint Institute of Barbering for additional hours in order to reattain my Barbering license. Respectfully, Allan D. Copenhaver Class of 1966. P.S. While in Vietnam I used by Barbering talents to the up most.,and made enough money that I was able to send my entire monthly Military pay home to my Wife.
